Chrome?

Having been a fan of country music for nearly 37 years now, I am pissed off about the genres current direction. History shows Bob Wills and the Playboys were in fact playboys. Pulling vag from coast to coast. Hank Williams was a drunk. George let everyone know about his difficulty to stop boozing for beautiful Tammy. Willie started smoking pot and teamed with Waylon to change the face of country while Conway Twitty sang about his sex addiction. But now we don't have any of that. Garth is gone. Tim McGraw only wants to sing of his love for Faith. Two dumb shits they call Montgomery Gentry sing about speed. I never thought I would say it, but I would rather listen to rap over most new country. I respect gang banging TuPacs over Trace Adkins. Chrome? Really? Next album going to be about diamond plate? Maybe I am being too harsh; however, country's leaders are now Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter. For Christ's sake, he was singing Christian music before Miley became Hannah Montana. Taylor Swift. She's hot. Some good songs, but where are the bad asses? Gary Allen is alright. Dierks has a few decent songs, but country is in need of a new face. Just as John Cena is old hat in the WWE. Heard.

  1. I could not agree more, Seattle. All genres of music have tended to get away from their quality "roots." When someone like Lady Ga-Ga can make it big there are some serious issues with modern music. With that said, I live in Texas and solid country music can still be found down here. It just isn't making it on the national stations.

  2. I honestly have no idea what either of you are talking about. Seems to me you too are being a bit too nostalgic and need to get with the program. Culture and music changes over time, so you can either choose to get with it or continue listening to another generation, but there's really no good reason complaining about the direction music is going today unless you want to get out and do something about it. If you don't liek today's style go out there and make your own music.

Either way, country is pretty blah, although i do like Miley Cyrus.

  3. I cannot trust or respect anyone who admits to liking Miley Cyrus. End of argument.

  4. Maybe you should listen to The Climb then. Musical Masterpiece.
